Utah Funeral Potatoes

Warm and comforting this classic side dish goes with any main dish and is simple to put together!
Ingredients
Filling
- 2 lbs. hash browns
- 9 tbsp butter
- 2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 pint sour cream
- 1⁄2 tsp salt
- 3⁄4 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated, firmly packed
Topping
- 1 1⁄2 cups corn flakes, crushed
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
Recipe
- Sauté onion in 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until translucent.
- Mix together all remaining filling ingredients.
- Put potato mixture in a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Combine corn flakes and butter. Sprinkle mixture on top of the casserole.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
